Research shows that children prepared to learn in kindergarten are prepared to learn in school and life. Sadly, Ohio’s children in general, and Elyria’s children, in particular, are falling behind their peers in Kindergarten readiness. Recognizing this, The Elyria City School District approached the early childhood education providers of Elyria to build a community-led, school-linked initiative with the goal of improving and expanding quality preschool in order to ensure all children are prepared for Kindergarten.

This program is known as Ready Set Go…to Kindergarten. We are happy to help your child and family access:

• a FREE book each month from Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library

• high quality, low-cost preschool

• health screenings and immunizations

• developmental screenings to make sure your child is meeting milestones on time

• family support programs

• community programs such as library storytimes
